Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Gelllez collects through this website and how it is used.

Information you provide

If you join the newsletter or submit the contact form, you provide information such as your email address, name, topic, and message. Form submissions are processed by FormSubmit and delivered to Gelllez. FormSubmit states that submissions may be retained for up to 30 days. Do not send sensitive personal, financial, medical, or authentication information through these forms.

Orders and accounts

If you place an order or create an account in the Gelllez Shop, we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items you ordered, and your order history. We use this to take payment, deliver your order, email you about it, keep our accounting records, help with returns and support, and prevent fraud. Payments are processed by Paystack: we receive a payment reference and the amount, but we do not see or store your card number. Account passwords are stored in a protected (hashed) form by our sign-in provider.

To run the shop we use trusted service providers: Supabase (database and sign-in), Paystack (payments), Resend (order emails), and Vercel (hosting). We keep order information for as long as we need it to fulfil your order and to meet our accounting and legal obligations. You can ask us to correct your details or to delete your account by emailing support@gelllez.com; we may need to keep some order records where the law or our accounts require it.

When your order goes out for delivery, the delivery person may share their live location so you can follow it on a map; it is shown only to you while the order is on its way and is deleted when it is delivered. On delivery we take a photo as proof that the order arrived (it may show the doorway, the parcel or the person who received it). The photo is stored privately, is visible only to you and the shop owner, and is kept with the order record for handling any dispute.

If you apply to sell, we also collect your legal name, address, phone, government ID type and number, business registration number, photos of your documents and of yourself holding your ID, and your bank account details. They are stored privately, seen only by you and the Gelllez team, and used to verify you, prevent fraud, pay you and meet legal obligations. Approved sellers' store names are shown to shoppers. To verify sellers we may send their NIN or CAC number to an identity-verification provider (Dojah) and their bank account number to Paystack to confirm the account holder's name; we keep only a short summary of each result.

Your shopping cart, saved items and the list of products you recently viewed are kept only in your own browser on your device; they are not sent to us. You can clear the recently viewed list on the shop pages or by clearing your browser data.

Job seekers and Gelllez HR

If you create a Gelllez Jobs profile or apply for a job, we collect your name, email address, phone number, location, work history, education, skills, CV and your answers to the employer’s questions. The employer you apply to sees your profile, CV and answers. If you choose to get a verified badge, we also collect photos of your ID document and of yourself; only the Gelllez team sees them.

AI screening. When an employer turns it on, an AI system compares your CV and profile with the job post and gives the employer a match score and short notes. Candidates who match well may be invited to the assessment automatically. Nobody is rejected automatically: a person at the employer reviews every application and can invite anyone.

Assessments. If you take a Gelllez HR assessment, we collect photos of your ID (front and back), a selfie and photos of your room before the test; a check of your browser for screen-recording, virtual-camera, remote-desktop and automation software and extra screens; and, during the test, your answers, camera snapshots at intervals and browser activity such as leaving the test window or trying to copy and paste. We do not record what you type outside the answer boxes, and we do not use face recognition: a person compares your selfie with your ID. Short role-play simulations record what you say or type to the simulated customer. This is used to run and mark the test and to check its integrity; a person reviews any integrity concern before any decision.

AI interviews and the work-style questionnaire. AI interviews are recorded and transcribed, and an AI writes a report on your job-related answers for the hiring team. The work-style questionnaire records your choices and a profile of how you prefer to work. Neither ever scores your appearance, expressions, emotions or accent, and a person makes every hiring decision.

Who processes it. Besides the employer, we use Anthropic (the AI that screens, writes and marks tests, runs interviews and reviews camera snapshots for integrity), Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email). Some of these providers store or process data outside Nigeria.

Gelllez Job Forum. If you join the Job Forum, other signed-in members can see your forum profile (name, photo, headline, location, skills, about and what you are open to), your posts, photos and comments, your reactions, and how many connections and followers you have. Your connections list, invitations, blocks and reports are private. Event pages, including the organiser's name and photo, are public so they can be shared. If you get an event ticket, the organiser sees your forum name and ticket. Paid tickets are processed by Paystack. Organisers' payout details are seen only by them and the Gelllez team. Adverts on the Job Forum are marked Sponsored; we count how many times each advert is shown and clicked, without recording who saw or clicked it. Private messages can only be sent between connected members and are visible only to the two people in the conversation; the Gelllez team sees a message only if one of them reports it, and then only that message. Reports are reviewed by the Gelllez team and the reported member is not told who reported them. Forum photos are stored with our database provider and can be opened by anyone who has the photo’s link. You can edit or delete your posts and comments at any time, and ask us to delete your forum profile by emailing support@gelllez.com.

How long we keep it. ID photos, selfies, room photos, camera snapshots, browser activity logs and individual answers are deleted 90 days after the assessment (or 90 days after an invitation ends unused). Interview recordings and transcripts are deleted 90 days after the interview, and work-style answers 90 days after you complete them. Your score, feedback report and interview report are kept with your application. Your profile and CV stay until you delete your account. To ask for access, correction, deletion or a human review of an AI result, email support@gelllez.com.

Gelllez People (time and attendance). If your employer uses Gelllez People, they keep a record about you with your name, contact details, job title, department, manager, employment type, start date, work location and an emergency contact. When you use the web clock we record each punch (in, meal out, meal in, out) with the time and, if your employer turns it on and your browser allows it, your location at that moment only; we never track your location between punches. We also keep your time-off requests and decisions, leave balances and any changes your manager makes to your punches, together with their reason. Your employer (its account owner and the HR admins it chooses) and, for your own team, your line manager can see this; other employees and Gelllez staff cannot. Your employer decides how long they keep these records; ask them, or write to support@gelllez.com.

Making sure the right person clocks in. Your employer may ask you to register your phone so each punch is confirmed with its Face ID or your fingerprint. That check happens on your phone: your face and fingerprint never leave it, and Gelllez only receives and stores a secure key that proves your registered phone confirmed you. Your employer may also ask for a reference photo and a selfie with each punch, or have you use a company clock device with your employee number, a PIN (stored only in scrambled form) and a picture taken by the device. Your manager compares punch pictures with your reference photo; Gelllez does not use automatic face recognition. Punch pictures are deleted after 60 days; your reference photo stays until you or your employer replaces or removes it.

Personalisation and Gelllez updates

When you are signed in, we use what you do on Gelllez itself, such as your jobs, applications, posts, events, tickets, adverts and orders, and the addresses of the Gelllez pages you open, to suggest what may help you next (for example, verifying your ID or trying Gelllez HR). We record only the page address, never what you type, and keep these page records for 180 days. You see the suggestion in a “Recommended for you” card that explains why it is shown. The Gelllez team can see a list of members ranked by this activity, with a suggested next offer, so we can help the right people first; it never decides anything about you on its own. Visitors who are not signed in are not recorded this way.

You can turn this off at any time in Job Forum → Me → Privacy and emails; we then stop recording your pages and stop the suggestions. We send Gelllez updates and offers by email only if you say yes, at most about two a month, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Emails about your account, orders, tickets and applications are sent whatever you choose. We do not buy contact lists, scrape other websites or sell or share your activity with advertisers.

Invite links and credits. Each member can share a personal invite link. When someone opens it, a small cookie remembers the invite code for 30 days; if they then create an account, we link the two accounts so the person who invited them can earn credits when they join and when they first pay for something on Gelllez. The person who invited you sees only how many of their invites joined or paid, not who you are or what you bought. Credits have no cash value and can only be used on Gelllez. Update emails are sent through Resend, include a one-click unsubscribe, and we keep a record of when each update was sent and to how many people.

Analytics and cookies

Analytics and campaign cookies are used only if you allow them in the cookie banner; you can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, and our Cookie Policy lists every cookie we use. With your permission, Gelllez uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, pages viewed, referrers, and general device information. This helps improve the site and measure outbound partner-link activity. Gelllez does not intentionally use this analytics setup to identify individual visitors.

We also keep our own anonymous visit records to see how the site is used: the page, the time, the website or campaign that sent you, your device type, browser, system and language, whether you were signed in, how long you stayed on the page, and the approximate country, region and city of your internet connection (worked out by our hosting provider; we do not store your IP address). A random visitor number in a first-party cookie, which expires after 24 hours of inactivity, lets us count a visit of several pages as one visit. These records do not include your name, email or account, and are deleted after 13 months. If you have not allowed analytics cookies, or your browser sends a “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track” signal, we do not record your visits. With campaign cookies allowed, a first-party cookie remembers which website, link or campaign brought you here for up to 180 days; it is never shared with advertisers.
